Yah! It's Tuesday, my favourite day of the week!...And you all know why right! Well you should by now...Don't I gush enough about Twilight Tuesday?
Anyway, this weeks challenge theme is by our beautiful and multi talented Jen...Did you see our fantastic new blog design at TT yet?... Jen designed that! Cool huh! Ok, where was I? Oh yeah... This weeks theme... For this week's theme Jen kept things nice and simple and chose...
"Blue"
Jen writes " Blue. Edward loves Bella in Blue.
"That colour blue looks lovely with your skin," he said, watching me. I was surprised; I looked down, flushing, of course." - Bella Swan, Twilight, pg 148.
Creative Portion: So this week the challenge is simple....Create anything you want focusing on the colour blue. Does it have to be Bella's blue, no. Just blue. Twilight related? Well, hopefully, but it's up to you.
Comment Portion: What's your favourite colour to wear and why? Are there any colours that you just hate wearing?"
So simple and so easy, so relaxing and fun.... Well for me anyway since blue has always been my favourite colour... Right up till I started scrapbooking and cardmaking...Then I discovered different types of blue, brown, red... ohhhhh and greens! There are some beautiful greens out there! I have noticed (more and more as they get older) that because I live in a male dominated house that I tend to go for more pinks and purples... especially with belongings...My boys don't like using pink drink bottles, towels etc and this way it usually doesn't go missing or get dirty.
So I found this gorgeous blue paper called "Topiary, Vintage Beauty" by Ruby Rock-It. I fell in love...I'm so easy! And this is what I came up with...
So I found this gorgeous blue paper called "Topiary, Vintage Beauty" by Ruby Rock-It. I fell in love...I'm so easy! And this is what I came up with...
I used my "Butterflies are Free" Gel-a-Tin stamps, cause you know how much I love them and I even got really creative and sewed around the outside!
I embossed the butterfly...It really does look better when you do it that way and of course embossed it again to give it a 3D sort of effect....
Paper: Topiary, Vintage Beauty, Blue and Brown Bazzil cardstock.
Stamps: Gel-a-Tins, Butterflies Are Free, Hero Arts.
Ink: Versafine, black and Tim Holtz, Walnut Distress.
Embossing Powder: Polysparkle
And then because I really love this paper I made another card....

This card just came out of nowhere I hadn't even planned on making it! I just couldn't resist using my new Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm (thanks Margie). I find these stamps so beautiful to use and I just love colouring in the images...So relaxing!
Here is a closer look at my colouring in...
Paper: Topiary, Vintage Beauty. Jenni Bowlin, blue and white bazzil.
Stamps: Anya, The Greeting Farm. Hero Arts.
Ink: Versafine-black, Tim Holtz-Walnut Distress.
Pencils: Derwent. Punch: Fiskars Border.

Gorgeous! Both of them and I love love love that paper! Both cards were sooooo rich and creamy, felt like I could reach right through the monitor and touch them for myself! Wonderful job!
Your work is always so breathtaking Donna. I just cannot get over how amazing all of your work is. You have perfected your own personal style. I love that you stitched on the first card! And, the Miss Anya stamp is colored beautifully! I'm going to need some more of those stamps! AMAZING cards!!!
The paper is really adorable. I love the first card how the blue is dominant but in the background. The ribbon helps the blue to pop. That Anya is adorable. Perfect with the dp.
Donna- these cards are so pretty! I love both of them! I just love everything that you make!
Those are both great! I love blue too:)
Donna, you are so creative! Do you sell your cards at all?
Oh you are killing me. Literally killing me. These are both gorgeous. I don't know how you just keep knocking these out and each one is better than the next. I have to say my fave is the Anya card. You really rocked the coloring in her. Amazing.
I'm going to have to go buy some of those stamps... I can't resist any longer.
Did I get up yet? I swear I just fainted from the beauty!! :) I LOVE LOVE the stitching, and the paper, and the butterfly (the butterfly cards are my favorite of your cards)..everything! I agree with rebecca the paper looks so rich! Your anya is colored beautifully too! Totally loving them both! Hugs!!
OH! How beautiful! I adore blue and have loved seeing how everyone's used it today -- and these two cards are just stunning! You really do such beautiful work, Donna!
Wow, oh wow! I don't know where to begin. I LOVE those butterflies and after seeing them up close I think I may have to get them. The sewing on the card is awesome. I am to scared to do that!
Wonderful job coloring and everything! Perfect!!
HI Don,
I know I am not part of this challenge but I particularly love your cards today. The blue you have used is lovely. I love the stitching, I actually have one of those little machines , must dig that out! What are you doing with this, hope a portfolio is happening? You have been so creative , I am so proud of you . xx coco
Don,
Just thinking, do you know of any card challenges that would suit my style of card making. I haven't read the twilight things but do you know of any others? This activiity certainly seems to make you do things and keep the motivation going. xx coco
WOWZERS!!! I NEED this stamp!! I'm going to find it as soon as I'm finished commenting!! I adore the cards you made. I agree about the butterfly and the embossing. It's just so much MORE gorgeous (can that even be possible?) when it's embossed. I love the idea you have to keep your stuff from getting dirty or used. I wish this would work for me!! Your card is absolutely stunning...which is no surprise when you look at the creator! I love ya Don!
These are truly beautiful, Donna. Love the papers.
